Simulate the complete publishing setup for your next release without the pressure.
This challenge is a dress rehearsal. You will walk through the essential publishing steps for a forthcoming or hypothetical song, building a repeatable checklist for every future release.
The plan, day by day
- Day 1: Formalize SplitsTake a recent song (even a demo). Draft a 'Split Sheet' email to your co-writers (or to yourself, if you wrote it solo). State the song title, date of creation, and final shares. Save it in a 'Publishing' folder.
- Day 2: PRO Registration WalkthroughLog into your PRO's website. Begin the 'Register a New Work' process. Fill out all the fields with your song's information (writers, splits), stopping just before final submission. Screenshot the final page for your records.
- Day 3: AI-Generated Pitch AngleFeed your song's lyrics and a brief description into an AI assistant. Ask it: 'Generate three powerful, 150-word pitches for this song to a Spotify playlist editor, with each pitch focusing on a different core emotion.'.
- Day 4: Emotional Resonance CheckReview the AI-generated pitches. Which one feels most authentic to the song's soul? Edit it until it is perfect. This becomes the heart of your release narrative.
- Day 5: Timeline IntegrationCreate a new calendar event for 4 weeks before your *next* release's target date. Title it 'Publishing Lock.' In the notes, list the tasks from Days 1-4 as your official pre-release publishing checklist.
