The Lyrical Hook: Polishing a Line for Launch

Find and refine the single lyric that will sell your song.

This challenge tasks you with thinking like a marketer. You will identify and sharpen the most 'quotable' lyric from a song and then build a tangible marketing asset around it, ready for a hypothetical release week.

The plan, day by day

  1. Day 1Select a song for a hypothetical release. Identify the three lines with the most marketing potential. Re-edit them for maximum brevity and impact.
  2. Day 2Take your single best-edited line from Day 1. Following the principles in the 'AI for Musicians' guide, feed it to an AI image generator to create three distinct visual concepts for an Instagram post.
  3. Day 3A/B test your lyrical hook. Post a Twitter/Threads poll with your original line and your newly edited line. Ask your audience 'Which hits harder?' The answer is valuable market research on the emotional resonance of your editing.
