1. Day 1In a document or project management tool, map out an ideal 45-day release timeline, from final mix delivery to release day.
2. Day 2Insert these mandatory checkpoints into your timeline with specific deadlines: 'Finalize Split Sheet,' 'Register Song with PRO,' 'Register Song with Publishing Administrator,' 'Deliver Master to Distributor.'
3. Day 3Using an AI writing tool, draft the 'song story' portion of a DSP editorial pitch. Focus on powerfully conveying the song's unique emotional core and narrative.
4. Day 4Gut-check the emotional pitch from yesterday. Does it feel authentic and compelling? Solicit feedback from one trusted peer on its clarity and impact. Revise based on their notes.
5. Day 5Review your completed Pre-Flight Checklist. This is now the standard operating procedure for your artist business. Save it as a template for all future releases.
