The Deadline Mix

Finalize and prepare a track for distribution in five days.

This 5-day challenge simulates a real-world release deadline. You will take a nearly-finished song, complete the mix, create alternate versions, and prepare it for delivery to a distributor, enforcing decisive action over endless tweaking.

The plan, day by day

1. Day 1Set the Deadline. Choose a track. Define your 'done' criteria. Commit to exporting your final mix at the end of Day 3, no matter what.
2. Day 2Core Mix. Spend a maximum of three hours on your main mix. Focus only on balance and impact. Export your work at the end of the session.
3. Day 3Reference & Resonate. Listen to your mix in three different environments (car, earbuds, laptop). Does the core emotion translate? Make final, targeted adjustments for one hour only. Export 'FINAL_MIX.wav'.
4. Day 4AI-Powered Mastering. Upload 'FINAL_MIX.wav' to an AI mastering service. Generate masters for Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud. Download all three.
5. Day 5Create Alternate Mixes. From your Day 3 session, create and export an instrumental mix and an a cappella mix. You now have a complete asset package for release.
