Design Your Next Artistic Era
A 7-day sprint to plan a cohesive, narrative-driven release cycle.
Stop thinking single-to-single. This challenge guides you in mapping out a multi-release narrative arc, creating the strategic foundation for your next body of work and its patient, powerful rollout.
The plan, day by day
- Day 1Define the Era's Theme. In a single sentence, what is the central story or question your next 3-5 songs will explore? (e.g., 'The journey from solitude to connection.')
- Day 2Create a Visual Mood Board. Collect 5-10 images, colors, and textures that represent the theme of your era. This will be your visual guide for all content.
- Day 3Gut-check the Emotional Resonance. Share your one-sentence theme with your inner circle. Ask: 'Does this feel compelling? What does it make you feel?' Their response is your first audience test.
- Day 4Map the Narrative Arc. Assign a sub-theme to three future releases that tells your era's story. (e.g., Song 1: 'The Comfort of Isolation', Song 2: 'The Fear of Reaching Out', Song 3: 'The Risk of Trust').
- Day 5Use AI to build the world. Feed your Era Theme and Narrative Arc into an AI. Prompt it: 'Generate 10 ideas for non-music content (short videos, photos, journal entries) that tell this story between song releases.'
- Day 6Calendar the Vision. On a calendar, block out tentative release 'windows' for your next three songs over the coming 12-18 months. This is your high-level map.
- Day 7Write the 'Era Manifesto'. Write a short paragraph that you can use in future bios or press releases to explain what this new chapter of your music is all about. This is your story, solidified.
