The Sync-Ready Song Sprint

Craft a song with a specific sync licensing use case in mind.

This 5-day challenge guides you through writing and documenting a song tailored for a specific emotional brief, building a high-value asset for your publishing catalog.

The plan, day by day

  1. Day 1Define a sync brief. Write a one-sentence description of a fictional scene, including the desired emotion (e.g., 'A hopeful montage for an indie film where the protagonist starts a new life').
  2. Day 2Write the core melodic and lyrical hook for your song. Gut-check its emotional resonance against your brief. Record a simple voice memo. Does it feel hopeful?
  3. Day 3Use an AI chord progression generator to explore three alternative harmonic structures for your hook. Choose the one that best enhances the intended emotion.
  4. Day 4Finalize the full song structure (verse, chorus, bridge) and record a clean, simple demo (e.g., acoustic guitar/piano and vocal).
  5. Day 5Create a final split sheet and metadata document for the composition, listing all contributors, their percentages, and descriptive keywords for the song's mood and theme.
