The One-Stop Catalog Audit
In 5 days, make one song perfectly 'sync-ready' from an administrative standpoint.
This challenge puts publishing theory into practice. You will select one song from your catalog and perform a complete administrative audit, culminating in a 'one-stop package' ready to send to a music supervisor.
The plan, day by day
- Day 1Select one song. Locate or create a split sheet detailing 100% of the composition's writers and their ownership shares. If you are the sole writer, create one for yourself.
- Day 2Confirm the song is registered with your PRO. Log in to your member portal and verify the writers and percentages match your split sheet exactly.
- Day 3(AI Step) Use an AI assistant to generate a comprehensive metadata sheet for the song. Include BPM, key, lyrical themes, and at least five 'mood' keywords (e.g., 'brooding,' 'anthemic,' 'introspective').
- Day 4(Emotional Resonance Step) Write a 'Liner Note' for the song: a 1-2 sentence pitch describing its core feeling and an ideal scene placement (e.g., 'For the moment a character decides to leave their old life behind.').
- Day 5Create a new folder on your computer. Add the master WAV, instrumental WAV, the split sheet, the metadata PDF, and a text file with your 'Liner Note.' This is your sync package.
