The Master Asset Audit Challenge

This 3-day challenge guides you through auditing a key track's master files, preparing them for multiple revenue opportunities like sync and streaming, and organizing them for professional use.

The plan, day by day

1. Day 1For one of your key songs, define the three essential master versions you need: Streaming Master (-14 LUFS target), Instrumental Master, and a high-dynamics TV/Sync Master (with vocal). Document these requirements.
2. Day 2Use an AI metadata editor to properly tag your master files. Ensure fields for ISRC (if applicable), track title, artist, composer, and version (e.g., 'Sync Master') are complete and accurate for all three versions.
3. Day 3Perform an emotional resonance check on your Instrumental Master. Listen to it without the vocal. Does the music alone still tell a compelling story and convey the intended feeling? This is what a music supervisor will often do.
