This 3-day challenge focuses on the micro-editing of a single song verse. You will rewrite, refine with AI assistance, and test the emotional impact of your changes, turning a satisfactory section into an unforgettable one.
The plan, day by day
- Day 1Select one verse from a nearly finished song. Rewrite it with a focus on replacing every generic noun and passive verb with something specific and active.
- Day 2Identify the weakest line in your newly rewritten verse. Use an AI tool (as shown in the 'AI for Musicians' guide) to generate 10 alternative lines. Do not copy them. Use them as inspiration to craft a superior line of your own.
- Day 3Record two simple voice memos: the original verse and the final edited verse. Send them to a trusted peer and ask, 'Which one makes you feel more?' Do not ask which one they 'like.' Evaluate their emotional feedback.
