Challenge: The Lyric Refinement Sprint

Take a good lyric and make it undeniable.

This 3-day challenge guides you through a professional editing process on one of your existing songs, sharpening its language and emotional impact line by line.

The plan, day by day

1. Day 1Select one finished lyric. Print it out. With a red pen, circle every cliché, weak adjective, and generic phrase. Your goal is to identify the 10 weakest spots.
2. Day 2Take the 10 circled spots from Day 1. Use an AI chatbot (following the 'AI for Musicians' guide) to generate 20 alternative phrases or word choices for each. Your role is to curate, not to accept its first answer.
3. Day 3Rewrite the lyric with your curated edits. Record a simple voice memo of you singing the new version. Send it to one trusted peer and ask: 'What specific feeling does this give you?' This is your Emotional Resonance test.
