The ISRC & Alternate Version Audit

Organize the master versions and identifiers for one key release.

This challenge walks you through the process of cataloging every version of a single song, preparing the necessary identifiers, and defining the strategic value of each asset.

The plan, day by day

  1. Day 1Choose one of your released songs. Create a list of every master version that exists for it (e.g., Streaming Master, Instrumental, Acapella, Radio Edit, Vinyl Master).
  2. Day 2Use an AI spreadsheet assistant to organize this list. Create columns for Version Name, File Name, and ISRC. If you do not have ISRCs for each, assign a temporary, unique placeholder for your internal records.
  3. Day 3For each version, write a one-sentence 'Emotional Use Case.' For example, 'Acoustic Version: Intimate and vulnerable, for sync in a relationship drama.' This reframes each technical file as a strategic asset with a unique resonant purpose.
