This 5-day challenge walks you through creating a basic but effective marketing funnel, establishing a direct line of communication with your most engaged listeners.
The plan, day by day
- Day 1Choose an email marketing provider and create a simple landing page. Offer one compelling reason to sign up: an unreleased demo, a PDF of handwritten lyrics, or a discount code.
- Day 2Update every one of your public profiles—Spotify, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.—with the link to your new landing page. Make it the primary call-to-action.
- Day 3Write a three-part automated welcome email sequence. Email 1: Deliver the promised item. Email 2: Share a brief story about your artistic mission. Email 3: Ask a question to encourage a reply and start a conversation.
- Day 4Post a piece of content on your primary social channel. The explicit goal of the post is to drive traffic to your email list sign-up page. Track the clicks.
- Day 5Go to your Spotify for Artists dashboard. Identify your top 5 listener cities. This is your initial market data. Save this information for future tour planning or targeted marketing.
