A 5-day sprint to fortify your song's emotional core before production begins.

This challenge guides you through a process of identifying, articulating, and enhancing your demo's essential emotional spark, ensuring it survives the production process intact.

The plan, day by day

1. Day 1Record a one-minute, single-instrument voice memo of a new song idea. Capture it raw and do not edit or overthink it.
2. Day 2Write a one-paragraph 'Emotional Brief' for the song. Define the core feeling in specific terms (e.g., 'the quiet hope after a loss,' not just 'sad'). This is your Emotional Resonance anchor.
3. Day 3Using the principles from the AI for Musicians guide, use an AI tool to generate three simple, atmospheric pads or textures based on your demo. Choose the one that best enhances the Emotional Brief.
4. Day 4Create a new 'Demo V2' recording. Combine your original performance with the single AI-suggested texture. Focus on delivering a vocal that embodies the Emotional Brief.
5. Day 5Listen to V1 and V2 back-to-back. Share both with a trusted peer and ask which one feels more emotionally potent. Document their feedback.
