This challenge guides you through a legal and creative audit of one of your AI-assisted tracks. You will document your tools, review terms of service, and ensure the copyrightable, emotional core of your work is verifiably human.
The plan, day by day
- Day 1Select one of your recent productions that used AI. Create a document listing every AI tool involved (e.g., drum generator, synth patch creator, lyric assistant, mixing plugin) and describe its specific contribution to the final track.
- Day 2For each generative AI tool on your list, find and read its terms of service regarding copyright and commercial use. Does it grant you full, exclusive ownership of the output? Are there any restrictions? Document your findings.
- Day 3Review your list. Is the core musical idea—the element with the most emotional resonance—100% human-created? Now, use an AI metadata assistant to help you draft the appropriate copyright info for registration, reflecting only the human authors.
