Challenge: The 7-Day Songwriting Sprint

Follow a structured weekly arc to take a song from idea to polished demo.

This challenge mirrors the ideal weekly rhythm for a songwriter. You will move from abstract inspiration to a concrete, registered demo, using focused blocks for each stage of the creative process.

The plan, day by day

  1. Day 1: Ideation EngineUse an AI image generator to create a visual scene based on a single word (e.g., 'Solitude,' 'Friction'). Spend 20 minutes free-writing sensory details and emotions inspired by the image.
  2. Day 2: Deep Work DraftIn a 90-minute block, draft a verse and chorus based on your Day 1 free-writing. Focus on capturing a single, clear idea. Do not edit.
  3. Day 3: Melody and StructureCompose and record a scratch vocal melody for your draft. Experiment with at least two different melodic ideas for the chorus.
  4. Day 4: Refinement & FeedbackShare your scratch demo with one trusted peer from the EyE WiLL Skool community. Ask for specific feedback on the transition from verse to chorus.
  5. Day 5: AI-Assisted VariationConsult the 'AI for Musicians' guide. Use a recommended tool to generate three alternative chord progressions for your verse. Incorporate any new ideas that serve the song.
  6. Day 6: Emotional Resonance TestPlay your refined demo for a non-musician. Ask them: 'What feeling does this song leave you with?' Note their response without judgment.
  7. Day 7: Finalize & ArchiveRecord a clean demo. Create a text file with the final lyrics, BPM, and key. Name both files clearly (e.g., 'SONG-TITLE_DEMO_YYYY-MM-DD').
