A 5-day sprint to engineer a song built for placement.

This challenge guides you through the intentional process of writing, arranging, and producing a song with the specific goal of sync licensing in mind. You will focus on structure, theme, and creating a clean, professional demo package.

The plan, day by day

1. Day 1Define a target scene and emotion. Choose a single, clear mood (e.g., 'wistful optimism,' 'quiet determination') that you want to score.
2. Day 2(AI Step) Use an AI writing assistant, as outlined in the 'AI for Musicians' guide, to generate 10 lyrical prompts or first lines related to your chosen emotion.
3. Day 3Compose the song. Focus on a simple, effective structure (Verse-Chorus-Verse-Chorus-Bridge-Chorus) and ensure it includes an 8-bar instrumental section.
4. Day 4(Emotional Resonance Step) Create a rough demo. Play it for three people without context and ask them to describe the feeling in one word. Note how well their responses align with your Day 1 target.
5. Day 5Produce a clean demo mix and a full instrumental version. A professional sound is critical for making a strong first impression.
