The CEO One-Week Sprint

A 7-day challenge to lay the foundation for your three-year artist business plan.

Step into your role as CEO. This sprint will guide you through the foundational elements of a long-term business strategy, moving you from reactive artist to proactive entrepreneur.

The plan, day by day

  1. Day 1Write your Business Mission Statement. In one paragraph, define what your artist business does, who it serves, and what value it provides. This is your 'why'.
  2. Day 2Use AI to draft your plan. Input your mission statement into an AI. Prompt it: 'Based on this mission for an independent musician, create a simple three-year business plan outline with sections for Brand, Products, Marketing, and Finances.'
  3. Day 3Map Revenue Streams. Brainstorm three potential revenue streams beyond streaming (e.g., a specific piece of merch, a ticketed livestream concert, a subscription community).
  4. Day 4Pressure-test one idea for Emotional Resonance. Create a simple poll for your audience: 'If I created [Product Idea from Day 3] based on the theme of [Your Core Emotion], would that resonate with you?'
  5. Day 5Set a 3-Year Financial Goal. Write down one ambitious but specific financial number you want your artist business to achieve in three years. Post it where you can see it daily.
  6. Day 6Schedule CEO Time. Block one hour, once a week, in your calendar for the next three months. Title it 'CEO Time.' This is for working ON your business, not just IN it.
  7. Day 7Define Your Next 90-Day Goal. Based on your plan, what is the single most important business objective you can achieve in the next quarter? Write it down and make it your focus.
