Strengthen the part of your catalogue most listeners abandon. Over five days you'll diagnose and rewrite verse twos in three of your existing songs using the promise-and-payoff framework.
The plan, day by day
- Day 1Pick three of your existing songs. Write down what verse one promises in each.
- Day 2Write down what verse two currently delivers. Mark any song where the answer is 'the same thing again'.
- Day 3For each weak verse two, draft three new openings that complicate the verse-one promise.
- Day 4Pick the strongest opening. Write the full verse around it. Keep the original melody.
- Day 5Record a rough vocal pass with the new verse twos. Compare against the originals.
