Create a new song sketch by transforming an AI-generated idea into something uniquely yours.
This 3-day challenge tasks you with using an AI music generator as a starting point, then applying your own craft and emotional experience to create a compelling musical foundation.
The plan, day by day
- Day 1Use an AI music generator to create a 4 or 8-bar chord progression. Your task is not to accept it, but to transform it. Change the inversion of one chord, alter the rhythm, or add a single non-diatonic note that changes its character.
- Day 2[AI Leverage] Write a placeholder lyric for your new progression using an AI writing assistant. Prompt it with a specific mood and theme (e.g., 'a hopeful but melancholic lyric about leaving a hometown').
- Day 3[Emotional Resonance] Discard the AI lyric, but keep the theme. Rewrite the lyric entirely from the perspective of a specific, personal memory. Record a rough vocal melody. A/B test your version against the AI's. Does your lyric feel more specific, authentic, and emotionally resonant?
