Stop chasing fleeting trends. This challenge guides you in defining the core emotional and sonic identity you will build over the next three years, establishing a foundation for timeless work.

The plan, day by day

1. Day 1Define your North Star. Write a one-paragraph 'Artistic Mission Statement' describing the feeling you want your music to consistently evoke in listeners over the next three years.
2. Day 2Pressure-test the Emotional Resonance of your mission. Share your statement with one trusted peer. Ask them: 'What scenarios or moments in life does this feeling make you think of?'
3. Day 3Use AI for strategic brainstorming. Input your mission statement into a tool like ChatGPT. Prompt it: 'Given this artistic mission, suggest 10 potential song concepts or lyrical themes that align with it.' Select the most compelling one.
4. Day 4Write a single verse and chorus for the concept from Day 3. Focus only on fulfilling your Artistic Mission Statement. Do not think about trends.
5. Day 5Schedule your craft. Block out two hours per week in your calendar for the next three months, labeled 'Craft Development.' This is non-negotiable time for practice and writing.
6. Day 6Identify a technical skill gap. What one area of your craft (e.g., harmony, lyricism, production) will you focus on improving over the next six months? Find one resource to begin.
7. Day 7Archive your work. Save your mission statement and song snippet in a folder dated for today. Set a calendar reminder to review it in one year. This is the first entry in your three-year journey.
