5-Day Rights & Metadata Cleanup

This challenge walks you through the essential steps of organizing the rights and metadata for your top tracks, making them immediately attractive to music supervisors.

The plan, day by day

1. Day 1Create a master spreadsheet for your top three sync-ready songs. Include columns for Song Title, All Writers & Publishers, Respective Splits (%), PRO, ISWC, and ISRC.
2. Day 2Log in to your PRO's portal and verify that these three songs are correctly registered with the accurate split information. If not, begin the process to update them.
3. Day 3Using an AI music analysis tool or your own ears, generate 15-20 descriptive keywords for each song. Focus on mood, instrumentation, tempo, and potential scenes. Add these to your spreadsheet.
4. Day 4For each song, write a 2-3 sentence pitch that highlights its core emotion. This tests your understanding of its 'Emotional Resonance.' Example: 'A sparse, melancholic piano piece for a scene of quiet reflection or farewell.'
5. Day 5Create a dedicated folder for your top song. Inside, place the WAV, MP3, instrumental, your metadata spreadsheet, and a text file with your pitch. You are now prepared for an inbound request.
